Moderation policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
This charter explains, in plain language, how user-submitted content is moderated on Banger and how to report a problem. It supplements the Terms of use and applies to comments, content submissions ("Propose a banger") and tag-based relays.
What is prohibited - Hateful, discriminatory, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, illegal or misleading content, content infringing privacy or the rights of others (including copyright), spam and disguised advertising. Also refused: content identifying a minor who has run away, been abandoned, been the victim of an offence or died by suicide (Art. 18 of the law of 8 June 2004), and embeds pointing to content manifestly republished without its creator's authorisation (TV excerpts, music videos or matches re-posted by unofficial accounts).
How we moderate - Comments and content submissions are moderated BEFOREHAND: nothing is published automatically. An automatic filter assists the newsroom, but publication decisions are human. Embedded content selected by the newsroom is an editorial responsibility: it comes from official accounts or original creators, is verified before publication and removed without delay if a problem arises.
Reporting content - Use the "Report" button on content, or write to contact@banger.lu stating: the exact URL, the reason (and, where possible, the basis: illegality or a rule of this charter), your contact details if you wish to be kept informed, and a good-faith statement. Sufficiently precise reports are handled as a priority, generally within 48 working hours; manifestly illegal content is removed promptly.
Our decisions - Where we remove or refuse content and its author can be reached (known email address), we provide a statement of reasons (facts and rule applied), in accordance with Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA).
Appeals - Any moderation decision can be challenged by simple email to contact@banger.lu; we will review the decision and reply with reasons. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg Competition Authority, Digital Services Coordinator (Art. 53 DSA).
Right of reply - If you are personally implicated by content, see the Right of reply page.
