Cyberbullying: recognising it and not staying alone
Online harassment is never your fault, and you don't have to handle it alone.
Cyberbullying is when someone attacks you repeatedly online: insults, mockery, rumours, exclusion, messages that hurt. It's not 'just a joke' or 'no big deal'. If it hurts you, it's serious, full stop.
The right reflexes
Don't answer the provocation - it often fuels the bully. Instead, take screenshots to keep evidence, then block and report the person. These moves protect you without putting you at risk.
Above all, talk about it. A parent, a teacher, a trusted adult: just not carrying it alone changes everything. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a strong move.
Support lines exist
In Luxembourg, listening and advice services exist for exactly this, free and confidential. You don't need 'perfect proof' to call: doubt alone is enough to ask for advice.
