Free events: the method to stop missing out
Concerts, markets, activities: lots of free stuff happens - you just have to find it.
There's always someone who seems to know about every good plan, while you find out about everything too late. The difference isn't luck: it's a method. Finding free events is a skill you can learn, and it quickly becomes a reflex.
The right sources
Start with the official channels: your town's and the city's websites often publish their activities. Cultural venues also announce their free events on their own pages. Get into the habit of checking them once a week.
Organising yourself to show up
Spotting an event is pointless if you forget to go. Note the dates in your phone the moment you see them. Plan who you're going with: it's always more fun with others, and it stops you bailing at the last minute.
With free transport, no event in the country is really out of reach. Once you've got the reflex, your calendar fills up on its own with outings that cost nothing.
