Swimming has a well-earned reputation as a full-body sport. The water carries you, which limits impact on your joints, while offering resistance that works nearly every muscle. It's ideal if you want to move without pounding your body.

No need to be a champion

You don't have to grind out lengths like a pro. Alternating easy swimming with short breaks at the wall is plenty to start. If your technique is shaky, a few tips from a lifeguard can completely change your comfort in the water.

Always follow the pool's rules and don't overestimate yourself, especially in deep water. If you're a weak swimmer, stay where you can stand and progress step by step. Water safety is never up for negotiation.

Where to swim in Luxembourg

The country has several accessible public pools, in the city and beyond. Check the public session times near you and make it a habit, alone or with mates.
