Skating in Luxembourg: where to roll when you're starting out
Want to get into skating? Skateparks are free spots to level up.
Skating isn't just for pros stringing together tricks. First and foremost it's a way to move, meet people and have fun outdoors. And in Luxembourg, public skateparks are free places where you can come train at your own pace.
Getting started without getting hurt
Start on flat ground: learn to push, turn, brake. A helmet and pads aren't uncool - they're what lets you try again after a fall. Go during quiet hours at first; you'll feel more comfortable without an audience.
The spirit of the spot
A skatepark has its codes: you respect everyone's turn, you cheer on beginners, you don't judge. Don't be afraid to ask the more experienced skaters - most of them love giving tips. That's often how you make new friends.
You don't need pricey gear to start. A second-hand board and some motivation are plenty. The rest is just repetition and fun.
