A colorful mural, a painted wall, a giant mosaic: and suddenly a line of people waits its turn to pose in front. Street art isn't just urban decor anymore, it's become a photo backdrop, shared on loop and geotagged.

From clandestine tag to official festival

In Luxembourg, street art has earned its stripes: festivals and wall projects invite artists to turn gable ends and underpasses into large-format works. What was once barely tolerated now sits on signposted cultural trails.

The flip side

But there's a debate: when a wall exists only for photos, does the artwork become a mere backdrop? Some artists own it and design murals built for framing; others remind us a mural tells a story, not just a like. The real challenge: stopping long enough to look at it before shooting it.
