Asking for help is not a weakness
Speaking up is the first step to feeling better.
You may have been taught to grit your teeth and cope alone. But keeping everything inside eventually weighs a ton. Asking for help isn't giving up: it's choosing not to stay stuck.
Where to start
Start with someone you trust: a relative, a teacher, a member of your school's support service. You can also reach a helpline, often free and anonymous. You don't need the perfect words, just the courage to begin.
If the first person doesn't listen well, don't give up. Not every door is the right one, but some will open. Keep going until you find someone who takes you seriously.
In an emergency
If you feel in danger or your thoughts turn too dark, don't stay alone a moment longer. Contact a helpline or emergency services right away. Your life matters, and help is available now.
