Screen-life balance: gaming without it taking over
Loving video games and having a life alongside them aren't incompatible.
Gaming is a great passion, but it's healthier to see it as one pleasure among many. If you feel it's eating into your sleep, your homework, or your offline friends, that's the sign to rebalance.
Simple markers that work
Set yourself a cut-off time in the evening to protect your sleep, and switch screens off a while before bed. Plan sessions instead of playing "until it stops on its own", because it never stops on its own.
Keep activities that have nothing to do with gaming: sport, an instrument, going out. They recharge you and, bonus, they often make you better in-game because you come back fresh.
When to ask for help
If playing becomes an escape and you can't unplug anymore, it's no weakness to talk about it. A trusted adult or a professional can help you find balance again, without judgement.
