Journaling for beginners: emptying your head onto paper
Writing just for you, no judge, no rules, brings relief.
When your thoughts spin in loops, they feel bigger than they are. Writing them down gets them out of your head and makes them clearer. Journaling is simply a space of your own, with no one to judge you.
No pressure, no rules
You don't have to write well or fill pages. A few lines, a list, a doodle: it all counts. Write what annoyed you, what felt good, or three things you're grateful for today.
Do it when you feel the need, not because you must. Rereading old notes sometimes shows how far you've come. It's a tool, not one more chore to tick off.
If words bring up too much
Writing can bring up strong emotions, and that's sometimes heavy to carry alone. If what you feel worries you, talk to a trusted adult or a professional. You don't have to handle everything by yourself.
