Perfectionism: lowering the bar you set too high
Aiming for perfect is often the best way to freeze.
Wanting to do well is healthy. But aiming for perfection every time paralyzes you and makes you anxious. You delay, you quit, or you're never satisfied with what you make.
Aim for done, not perfect
A finished, imperfect piece beats a masterpiece never started. Set a 'good enough' bar to move forward, then improve if needed. You learn far more by doing than by waiting for the perfect moment.
Remember that mistakes are part of the game, not part of your worth. The people you admire all failed many times before succeeding. Getting it wrong just proves you're trying.
If the pressure crushes you
If the need to do everything perfectly ruins your life and sleep, don't take it lightly. Talk to a trusted adult or a professional. You deserve to feel good, not just to perform.
