Sport is surrounded by stubborn myths that discourage people before they even begin. Busting them clears out false excuses and finally lets you start without hang-ups.

You need to be fit before you start

It's the other way round: you don't get fit to do sport, you do sport to get fit. Everyone begins from their own starting point, and that's exactly what starting means. Waiting to be ready means never starting.

More myths to bin: you need expensive gear (false, your body is enough), you must suffer to improve (false, sharp pain is a warning sign), and you must devote hours (false, a few regular minutes already count).

Sport is only for the gifted

Last myth and not the least: most people who practise aren't athletes, just people who like moving. Talent is only required at the very top level. For fun and health, all that counts is that you get going.
