Revising by listening: do podcasts and videos work?
Learning by ear and screen can complement your revision, if you do it right.
We don't all learn the same way. Some remember better by reading, others by listening or watching. Educational podcasts, explainer videos, online courses: these formats can really help. As long as you don't confuse listening with revising.
Listening isn't learning yet
The trap with videos is feeling productive while being passive. To make it count, take notes, hit pause, rephrase in your own words. An audio or video format is a starting point, not the finish line of your revision.
The best use: dead time
Audio shines in moments when you can't read: on the bus, while walking, tidying up. In Luxembourg, public transport is free, so use the ride to listen to a useful episode. These recovered minutes add up fast.
Still, watch the quality of your sources: not everything online is reliable. Favour serious content and double-check important info elsewhere. In doubt? Cross-check with your course or an official source.
