Easy money online: how to spot the scams
The warning signs that should make you run before losing time or money.
Online, promises of fast money are everywhere. The basic rule is simple: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. No serious person promises you'll get rich with no effort and no risk.
The classic red flags
They ask you to pay to start, to recruit other people, or to hand over your bank details very fast? Be immediately wary. Pressure and urgency are manipulation tools, not signs of trustworthiness.
What to do if in doubt
If in doubt, stop everything and talk to someone you trust. In Luxembourg, dedicated online-safety resources exist to help you see clearly and react without panicking.
Protecting your money also means protecting your data. Never share your codes, passwords or photos of documents with a stranger. A real employer doesn't need all that at once.
