Many people don't dare speak a language for fear of having an accent. But an accent isn't a mistake: it's simply the trace of the other languages you already master. In other words, it's proof that you know more than one language.

An accent is a richness

In a country where so many languages coexist, varied accents are part of the scenery and no one makes a fuss about them. What matters is being understood, not sounding like a TV presenter. Communication always comes before perfection.

Luxembourg is used to this diversity of voices from many communities. Your accent simply places you among all those here who juggle several languages every day.

Speak first, polish later

If you want to refine your pronunciation, you can always practise by listening and repeating. But never let the fear of an accent stop you from speaking. It's better to communicate imperfectly than to stay silent out of shyness.
