Combining bike and train for a smart commute
Bike to the station, train for the distance: the duo that covers almost everything.
One of the most efficient trips mixes two modes: the bike to reach the station, the train to swallow the distance. You get the flexibility of the bike for the first few kilometres and the speed of the train for the rest.
Setting up the combo
Check where you can park your bike near the departure and arrival stations. Some stations offer dedicated spaces. If you travel with your own bike on the train, look up the conditions to avoid surprises at rush hour.
The alternative without owning a bike: a shared bike at each end of the trip, where stations exist. You avoid worrying about parking and travel ultra-light.
This kind of combination makes you independent without a car. Once the route is dialled in, you save time and move every day, which is good for your health and your mood.
