Why your feed knows you so well
Algorithms don't read your mind: they watch your every move.
Your feed isn't neutral: an algorithm decides what shows up to keep you scrolling as long as possible. It watches what you pause on, what you like, what you watch to the end. The more you react, the more of the same it feeds you.
The bubble that closes in
By constantly showing you what makes you react, the algorithm slowly locks you into a bubble. You keep seeing the same ideas, the same styles, and you start to think that's the whole world. Getting out of that bubble takes a conscious effort.
Take back control
Deliberately follow accounts that don't look like you and turn off autoplay. Mark what doesn't interest you to retrain your feed. You won't beat the algorithm, but you'll steer it toward what actually does you good.
