Everything you post leaves a trace, and the internet has a long memory.
Every photo, comment or like builds a trace that stays, even after you delete it. Screenshots circulate, pages get archived: once it's out there, it quickly slips out of your control. Your digital footprint is basically your online reputation.
It matters later more than you think
Recruiters, teachers or future employers may search your name one day. A joke posted at fifteen can age badly. The idea isn't to live in fear, but to post as if anyone could read it.
Clean up regularly
Search your own name once in a while to see what shows up. Set your accounts to private and delete old profiles you no longer use. Every dormant account is a forgotten door that can be broken into.
