Staying hydrated when you're active
Between class, sport and screens, water often comes last. Mistake.
We often think about eating, less about drinking. Yet hydration affects focus, energy and recovery after sport. When you move a lot, drinking regularly makes a real difference.
Water first, always
Water is still the go-to drink, and in Luxembourg tap water is drinkable, which makes hydration easy and cheap. Keep a bottle on you and refill it through the day. It's the simplest habit to build.
The drinks to go easy on
Sodas and very sugary drinks quench thirst less than you'd think and pack a lot of sugar. Energy drinks, meanwhile, aren't made for young people who are still growing. For a boost, sleep and a good snack beat them.
If you often feel unusually tired despite a healthy routine, talk to a doctor rather than papering over it with stimulant drinks.
