Photography: beginner mistakes to avoid
A few simple habits take your photos from "meh" to "wow".
Beginners often make the same little mistakes that ruin otherwise promising images. The good news: they all take just seconds to fix once you spot them.
Don't zoom, move closer
Digital zoom degrades image quality. Whenever you can, physically move toward your subject: you keep all the detail and you also change your angle.
Watch the background
A pole that seems to grow from someone's head, a cluttered background: the backdrop gives away amateur shots. Before you press, scan the frame and take a step sideways if needed.
