Protecting your gaming account like a pro

Hours of playtime, skins, progress: your account has real value, and hackers know it.

A well-stocked gaming account draws attention. Between progress, rare items and sometimes linked money, it's a target. The good news: the same security reflexes that work everywhere apply here too.

Beware of fake good deals

Gamers' favourite scams: sites promising free items, in-game currency 'generators', trades outside the platform. They ask for your login, then empty your account. No real reward ever comes through those.

Never share your password, even with a trusted teammate. Turn on the two-factor authentication your gaming platform offers, and be wary of links sent in private messages, even from a friend whose account may have been hacked.

If your account gets stolen

Use the platform's recovery process straight away and change your linked passwords, starting with your email. Contact the game's official support. The faster you react, the better your chances of getting everything back.
