Recognising and escaping toxicity online
Toxicity ruins the mood: learn to spot it and protect yourself.
Toxicity is anything that poisons the mood: insults, mockery, players who sabotage the match on purpose. It's not "normal" or "just how the game is", and you don't have to put up with it.
Don't feed the troll
Replying to a toxic player often gives them exactly what they want. The best answer is usually silence: mute the person and focus on your game.
Report serious behaviour. It's not "snitching", it's protecting the community and making sure the next players have a better experience than you did.
Be the example
The best weapon against toxicity is never repeating it yourself. Stay decent even when attacked, encourage others, and you help build a community people actually want to stay in.
