What you post today can follow you far longer than you'd imagine.
Every post, comment or photo leaves a trace: that's your digital footprint. Taken alone, each trace seems harmless. Put together, it tells a story about you that you don't always control.
Think of your future self
A school, a future employer or even a new group of friends might search your name. The point isn't to live in fear, but to ask yourself before posting: would I be comfortable with anyone seeing this a few years from now?
Sort through things now and then: old posts, old photos, comments that no longer reflect you. You're allowed to let your image evolve. Cleaning up your digital past is a normal and healthy move.
Taking back control when it's awkward
If awkward content about you is circulating, you can request its removal, exercise your data rights, and report anything that crosses the line. Your reputation can be repaired, and you're rarely as powerless as you think.
