Nailing an oral or a presentation without shaking
Speaking in front of others is a learned skill: prepare well and turn nerves into energy.
Doing an oral often scares people more than a written exam. The good news is that public speaking isn't a gift reserved for a few: it can be trained. With preparation and a few habits, you can genuinely shine when speaking.
Know your outline, not your text by heart
Learning every word by heart is risky: one memory blank and everything collapses. Instead, remember the big ideas in order, like stages. You'll speak more naturally, and if you lose the thread, you always know where you're going.
Rehearse out loud, for real
Rehearsing in your head isn't enough: practise out loud, standing, like the real day. In front of a mirror, a relative, or even your phone filming. The more you rehearse, the more the nerves fade, because your body already knows the tune.
On the day, breathe slowly before you start and look at your audience. A little stage fright is energy: welcome it instead of fighting it. And remember: the audience wants it to go well for you, not the opposite.
