Talking to an AI chatbot the right way: a prompt guide
An AI is only as good as your question.
Asking an AI a vague question is like ordering "some food": you get whatever shows up. The more precise your request, the more useful the answer. Prompting is the basic skill for using it well.
Give context
Explain who you are, what you want and what for: a summary for a presentation isn't the same as an explanation to understand something. Specify tone, length, level. The AI isn't inside your head, it's on you to frame it.
Refine step by step
Don't expect the perfect answer on the first try. React, correct, ask for shorter, simpler, or with an example. It's this back-and-forth that separates a mediocre result from a good one.
