Keeping your critical thinking around AI
AI speaks with confidence, even when it's completely wrong.
An AI phrases its answers clearly and confidently, which makes it feel like it's always right. Yet it can invent facts, sources or numbers while sounding perfectly credible. Trusting it blindly is the surest way to get things wrong.
Verify, always
Treat an AI answer as a lead, not a truth. Cross-check it with a reliable source, especially for schoolwork, health info or an important figure. If the AI cites a source, go check that it actually exists.
Ask better questions
Ask the AI to explain its reasoning and to give you the limits of its answer. The more you challenge it, the more you spot its flaws. Staying in control means remembering it's a tool, not an oracle.
