Homemade alcohol-free drinks: recipes that pop
Homemade mocktails and infusions, way more fun than plain soda.
You don't need alcohol to make a drink that looks and tastes great. With fresh fruit, herbs and sparkling water, you can whip up colourful mocktails perfect for a night in with friends or a sunny after-school hangout.
The base of a good mocktail
Think of three parts: a liquid (sparkling water, juice, iced tea), something tangy (lemon, lime) and an aromatic touch (mint, basil, ginger). Mix, add ice, and adjust the sweetness to taste.
A homemade infusion for summer
Soak cucumber slices, lemon and a few mint leaves in a jug of cold water. After a few hours, you get a fragrant, refreshing water with no added sugar. Great for staying hydrated when it's hot.
Water is still the best everyday drink. Mocktails are for fun and special moments, not a replacement for your water bottle.
