Eating balanced without overthinking it
Forget complicated diets: here are simple, lasting guidelines.
Eating balanced has nothing to do with depriving yourself or counting every bite. It's mostly about variety and consistency over time. The odd fast-food meal breaks nothing if the overall picture holds up.
The plate rule
A simple visual trick: fill about half your plate with vegetables, a quarter with starch and a quarter with protein. No scale or app needed. Your eye quickly learns to balance a plate.
The false friends to spot
Watch out for very sugary drinks and ultra-processed snacks that barely fill you and leave you hungry soon after. Nothing is banned, but better to make them the exception than the base. Listen to real hunger rather than boredom.
If you have specific questions about your diet or weight, the best move is to talk to a doctor or dietitian. Every body is different.
